Biography


    This artist’s visual vocabulary incorporates many disciplines and mediums to form a unique visionary style.

 She began creating at the age of 11, studying under the Expressionist Painter, Eleanor King Hookam, founder of the Elmhurst Art Museum in Illinois. Sharron went on to study at The Ringling College of Art in Sarasota Florida, then finished with a Bachelor’s of Fine Art from 

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. 

   Sharron is  highly prolific, and classically trained. Her company, Ott Art, has been in business since 1996, providing fine art, interior design, and teaching services.  

     Ms. Ott’s career took a somersault in 1990-1994 as she  toured with The Cirque Du Soliel, as a scenic, prop artist, and costume mistress, during the North American Tour of Allegria. After that she created scenic art for Steppenwolf Theatre, and her set design for The Red Moon Theatre’s, “Medicine Show," was featured at the premier of The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. In 1999 the Boeing Corporation purchased a 16’  Ott painting. It hangs in a Government Building in Taiwan. She has exhibited her paintings across the US, and has works in many prominent collections. She also has created many murals, indoors and outdoors, and is proficient in Interior Design, beautifying over 50 commercial establishments, as well as numerous homes. 

   In 2007 she began teaching, developing a strong following in Oak Park Il at OPAL, until moving to Michigan in 2016.

   Currently she holds classes at The Krasl Art Center in St. Joseph Mi, and at Eagle’s Woods, with Ott Art in Dowagiac MI, She also lectures at colleges in the Chicago area on Color Psychology.

    Her works may be seen at Amy Zane in Kalamazoo Michigan. She also shows extensively in exhibitions.
